Music Jam Productions presents the Summer Jam 80’s Party on June 2nd at the beautiful Abacoa Town Center Amphitheater in Jupiter, Florida. Come one, come all for an amazing night!

John Waite

Pop Music Icon John Waite headlines Summer Jam 2018 ‘80s Party. John Waite is a true legend of the 1980’s and the good ole days of MTV. Waite has hits from his time with Bad English and The Baby’s and of course from his solo very successful solo career, including Number 1 hits “Missing You” and “When I See You Smile” as well as charting songs “Change”, “Tears” , “Every Time I Think of You”, “Isn’t it Time”, ”Every Step of the Way,” and “If Anybody Had a Heart.” We cannot imagine a better artist that John Waite to headline Summer Jam 80’s Party.Trace Adkins’ trademark baritone has powered countless hits to the top of the charts. The three time GRAMMY-nominated member of the Grand Ole Opry is a TV personality, actor, author, and spokesman for the Wounded Warrior Project and the American Red Cross, for whom he raised more than $1.5 million dollars as winner of NBC’s All-Star Celebrity Apprentice.

Patty Smyth and Scandel

We couldn’t have an 80s Party without Patty Smyth and Scandal so they will play a full 90-minute set just before John Waite takes the stage for his 90-miute set. Scandal burst onto the scene in 1982 with a self-titled debut that turned out to be the best-selling EP in Columbia Records history, featuring the hit single, “Goodbye to You,” a song Smyth co-wrote. Aside from “Goodbye to You,” a #1 MTV video, Scandal included the hits “Love’s Got a Line on You” and “Win Some, Lose Some.” The group’s first full-length album, The Warrior, released in 1984, climbed into the Top 20 on the sales chart, eventually earning RIAA-certified platinum status, with more than a million in sales. “The Warrior” remains popular to this day. For all her ‘80s achievements (including being asked to join Van Halen while 8 months pregnant – an offer she declined), Smyth’s most impressive successes came in the ‘90s. Her 1992 solo album turned out to be a career peak. “Sometimes Love Just Ain’t Enough,” a song Patty wrote and featuring a performance by Don Henley. Scandal does not tour as much as other bands so Summer Jam is a very rare and special opportunity to see Patty Smyth And Scandal.

The Romantics

Everyone knows that the 1980s kicked off with The Romantics on the top of the charts. So, of course, The Romantics will also play a full set at Summer Jam 2018. The Romantics released their debut LP, recorded in three weeks. Anchored by That’s What I Like About You, When I Look In Your Eyes and a cover of
Ray Davies, She’s Got Everything. The album is an exemplary pop-rock period piece. The Romantics evoke a youthful portrait, haunting in its innocence, a direct contrast to the tough world they know in Detroit. A follow-up, National Breakout, was released in 1980, followed by tours of Europe and Australia. More influences — surf music, Motown – were evidenced, yet the sound was increasingly unique. Tomboy, 21 and Over and Stone Pony lived up to the post-punk battle cry of Two minutes or bust. The Band reached a new commercial peak in 1983-1984 with In Heat, a platinum album bearing two top ten singles: Talking In Your Sleep and One In A Million.” We know each of you will be dancing and grooving to The Romantics on June 2 at Summer Jam just like everyone did in the early 1980s!

Tommy Tutone

867-5309/Jenny !! Yes, we all know that one and Summer Jam’s 809s Party brings it all back to you live on June 2!  Tommy Tutone was an early-’80s power pop band led by vocalist Tommy Heath and guitarist Jim Keller. The group’s first single, 1980’s “Angel Say No,” charted on the American Top 40, yet it was 1981’s “867-5309/Jenny” that sent the group to the top of the charts. Peaking in early 1982, the single hit number four and went gold. Tommy Tutone also charted in the Top 40 with the release of their third album, 1983’s National Emotion. In 1994, Heath returned with Tommy Tutone and a new release, Nervous Love. Heath continued with Tutone, releasing Tutone.rtf in 1998, Tutone-Ality in 2009, and A Long Time Ago in 2011. 2016 saw the release of Tommy Tutone Live, capturing the excitement of their earlier live performances. And in 2017 we have a new release by Tommy Tutone of the Pop Classic, My Little Red Book. As a group, and more recently as a Duo and a Solo Act, Tommy Tutone continues to rock festivals and clubs in a Power Pop style. Jenny turns 35 this year!
